Chiapas amber, also known as Mexican amber, is a fossilized resin from ancient trees that is mined in the Simojovel region of Chiapas.

It is highly valued for its range of colors (including greens, reds, and yellows) and its unique fossil inclusions, such as insects and plant fragments, making it popular for jewelry and scientific study. The amber dates back to the Miocene epoch and is known for its clarity, which allows for excellent preservation of ancient life.

Age: Created during the Early to Middle Miocene epochs, making some pieces over 23 million years old

Black light: Authentic amber will glow blue under a black light.
